At the end of last year, Xiaomi introduced the flagship line of Xiaomi 12 smartphones. It includes three models: Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. In the future, the lineup will be replenished with two more devices: the super-top flagship Xiaomi 12 Ultra and the most affordable member of the family – Xiaomi 12 Lite. The characteristics of the latter were revealed today by insiders.
The device is predicted to have a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, an under-screen fingerprint scanner and FHD + resolution, as well as a Snapdragon 778G processor, which was equipped with last year’s Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. As for memory, the smartphone will have 6/8 GB of RAM, as well as 128 or 256 GB of permanent memory.
From Mi 11 Lite 5G NE will migrate to a new model and a set of cameras. The light version is credited with a 64 MP main sensor with optical stabilization, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 5 MP macro sensor. At the same time, the front camera will become worse, at least on paper – its resolution will decrease from 20 to 16 MP.
The battery capacity should be 4500 mAh, it is assumed that there will be a 67-watt fast charge. Recall that last year’s Mi 11 Lite 5G NE had a slightly smaller battery – by 4250 mAh, and the charging power was 33 watts. Out of the box, the gadget will receive a fresh version of Android 12 in the latest iteration of the proprietary MIUI 13 interface.
Interestingly, Xiaomi 12X will become the main competitor of Xiaomi 12 Lite. Despite the fact that the latter looks a little more convincing in terms of the processor (Snapdragon 870) and the main camera (64 MP), the “light” has every chance to emerge victorious from the duel, since it should cost less, but in practice it probably won’t outperform competitors in terms of performance. At the same time, insiders have not yet reported the exact cost of new items.
