MediaTek, following Qualcomm, announced its updated line of mobile processors. Users were shown two models at once – Dimensity 1050 and Dimensity 930.
The better one is Dimensity 1050. Its distinguishing feature was the emergence of support for millimeter-wave 5G networks – for the first time among all solutions produced by the company.
The new model also boasts support for a full-band Sub-6GHz network with dual link switching.
The processor was built according to the standards of the 6-nm process technology at the facilities of the Taiwanese TSMC.
The processor is aimed at the segment of low-cost devices, and therefore can only “digest” only displays with FullHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.
At the same time, MediaTek also updated the Dimensity 930 5G mobile platform. It was equipped with an octa-core ARM Cortex-A78 processor with a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz, as well as the latest IMG BMX-8-256 graphics processor. There is also support for LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1.
