Samsung held a large-scale event where it showed a new generation of smart watches Galaxy Watch 5. The lineup included a basic model in two sizes, as well as a Pro version. The family has lost one of its main features – a swivel bezel that could be used to control the gadget. Now a software analogue is used instead.
Galaxy Watch 5 received an aluminum case, as well as a reliable sapphire crystal. At the “proshka”, while the body is made of premium titanium. Also, the more expensive version received a 590 mAh high-capacity battery. The latter, according to the manufacturer, can provide a full day of battery life even with GPS enabled.
The new watch offers advanced body monitoring features. In addition to measuring heart rate, steps and calories, Watch 5 can determine blood pressure, analyze bioimpedance (% body fat), and take an ECG.
In the morning report, the watch shows the degree of blood oxygen saturation, as well as sleep data, you can even find out whether the user snored or not. Similar functions were in the previous generation, but here they are all combined into one.
The Galaxy Watch 5 runs Wear OS, the operating system that lets you use Google Pay and other Android apps. They are also equipped with a microphone and speaker, due to which you can answer calls directly from the gadget.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is available in two sizes – 40mm and 44mm. In the first watch is equipped with a 1.2-inch display with a resolution of 396×396 pixels, in the second – a 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 450×450 pixels. A similar screen is installed in Watch 5 Pro.
Both models have the same Exynos W920 processor and the same amount of memory – 1.5 GB of RAM + 16 GB of storage. In terms of battery capacity, the base version is 284mAh or 410mAh (both models are rated for 40 hours of battery life, while the Pro has 590mAh (up to 80 hours). The entire line is IP68 water-resistant and immune to shock because complies with military standard MIL-STD-810H The watch is available in two configurations: with Wi-Fi and LTE.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 price and release date
The watch is already available for pre-order, with the Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds as a gift for the first customers. Full sales will start on August 26 at the following prices:
