The Realme 9 5G was launched in Europe and, as it turned out, the device released under this name has nothing to do with the previously presented Realme 9 5G for India. The newcomer not only looks different, but also got a different screen, chipset and cameras.
However, it cannot be called a novelty, because in fact it is the Realme Q5 already familiar to us, which itself was a rebranding of Realme 9 Pro, adjusted for cameras and charging. So, our today’s hero is ready to boast a 120-Hz 6.6-inch IPS screen, a 50-megapixel main camera (of course, with a pair of 2-megapixel plugs) and a Snapdragon 695 chip.
The only difference between Realme 9 5G and Realme Q5 was the charging power, which for some reason they decided to cut as much as three times: from 60 to 18 watts. But the 5000 mAh battery, 3.5 mm jack, microSD tray and finger scanner at the end are preserved.
At the same time, the price tag of a newcomer can hardly be called humane: for such modest characteristics, the company asks for £249 or $304 for the basic 4/64 GB version, which is much more expensive than both the Realme Q5 ($205) and the Indian Realme 9 5G ($194). Sales of the European Realme 9 5G in the UK will start on May 17th.
