Qualcomm recently introduced its latest top-end processor – Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It’s no joke – most smartphone manufacturers are just getting ready to introduce their first flagships based on it.
But, thanks to insiders, we can already find out the details of the brand’s next SoC model – Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. A popular Internet insider from China, Digital Chat Station, shared the information.
He said that the new chip will boast a transition to an architecture that will include four types of cores at once. The predecessors of the novelty, it is worth noting, offered only three types.
So, in addition to the super-powerful Cortex-X3 core, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will find its place in two pairs of productive units (2 x Cortex-A720 + 2 x Cortex-A710), as well as a trio of energy-efficient Cortex-A510 and GPU Adreno 740.
The next Xiaomi flagship, Xiaomi 13, may be the first smartphone based on the latest chip. Its release is scheduled for November-December 2022.
