On August 21, the pilot episode of the series “House of the Dragon” – the prequel to “Game of Thrones” – was released. And this premiere clearly demonstrated how many fans the universe created by George Martin has gathered. The series had the most successful start in the history of the HBO channel!
In the US alone, 10 million people watched the first episode. The first episode also set the opening record for any HBO Max series in the US, Latin America, and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
According to analytics company Samba TV, in the first six hours of its release, House of the Dragon had 2.6 million U.S. households glued to the screen. The previous record belonged to the series “Euphoria” – 2.4 million. “House of the Dragon”, by the way, is also officially available in Russia, the rights to show the series have been acquired by the Amediateka streaming service.
