Microsoft adds more in-mail ads on iOS and Android

The Verge reported that in recent months, Microsoft has begun running more ads in its Outlook Mobile email client for iOS and Android.

The Outlook Mobile app gives users two options for organizing their mailboxes: a single mailbox with everything at once, or a mailbox with tabs divided into two categories: “Important” and “Other”. Microsoft used to only put ads on the “Other” tab for free users, but now it’s adding it to Unified Mailbox mode as well.

Essentially, Microsoft is making it harder for users of the free version to avoid ads in Outlook Mobile. Whichever mailbox mode you use, you will see an advertisement somewhere.
