Messenger from the developers of Amazon has become a tool for US pedophiles

The company is being criticized for this.

Amazon Web Services’ Wickr Me messenger has become a popular place to share sexual images with children. This is what human rights activists and US law enforcement agencies say.

Experts believe that Amazon is doing too little to solve the problem. NBC News examined court documents from 72 child sexual abuse or child pornography cases in which the defendant allegedly used Wickr. Nearly every prosecution reviewed has resulted in a conviction, with the exception of those that are still pending.

It is noted that almost none of the criminal complaints contained a notice of cooperation with Wickr itself. There have been only a few instances where the messenger has been legally compelled to provide information through a search warrant. In the US, Wickr needs to do more to detect the sharing of pornographic photos of children.
