Currently, the system only supports widgets from Microsoft itself. In particular, this is a widget for Outlook – a weather forecast, as well as a widget for viewing news and entertainment content.
But after the innovations, developers will be able to create widgets as add-ons to Win32 and PWA applications that already work on Windows.
“Toward the end of 2022, developers will be able to start building widgets and using them as add-ons for their own apps on Windows 11,” said Panos Panay, chief product officer at Microsoft.
