Juri Aarma was born on May 30, 1951 in the Kirov region in a family of deportees. Father – Gunnar Aarma, a famous Estonian healer, esoteric writer, translator, philosopher.

In 1975-1996 he worked at the Tallinn City Theater (until 1992 – the State Youth Theater of the Estonian SSR) in Tallinn. Since 1975 he has acted in films. He played small roles in the films “Granite Islands“, “Rowan Gates“, “Faust“, “Mermaid Shoals“, etc.
In 1992-1996 he worked at the radio Kuku raadio (Kuku radio) – first as an editor, then as one of the co-authors of the programs. Juri appeared on TV in the entertainment program “Ajaviitur”.

Jüri Aarma tragically died on May 21, 2019 at the Veerenni railway crossing in Tallinn under a train. The tragedy occurred at 10:34 when he was crossing on his bicycle.
