Everyone has used Google Translator at least once. Over the years, we have become so accustomed to it that we no longer download other applications in principle. Let them talk about alternatives as much as they like, millions of users will continue to use Google Translate, this is a fact.
More recently, the Google Translate interface on Android smartphones has changed almost beyond recognition. And here, many users may experience some difficulties: the icons have changed places, it seems not so easy to find such familiar tools.
Therefore, I suggest that you once again go over the basic capabilities of the translator and refresh them in your head. I’m sure many will find it useful.
Earlier, we told you more than once about the different features of Google Translate . We figured out how to use the translator right inside the Google keyboard , talked about new modes , and so on. If you are not in the know, be sure to read after this article, today we will talk a little about something else.
What is google translate
Google Translate has long become synonymous with the word Translator. Almost always, when they ask you to translate something, they say forget it in Google translate or look in Google translate . For those who do not know what it is, I explain:
This is not to say that Google Translate is the best. The network is full of other solutions that are an order of magnitude superior to it as a translation. However, it is safe to say that Google Translate is the most popular translator in the world. No matter how hard other companies try, they have not yet succeeded in surpassing Google.
It is unlikely that such a success of Google is associated with the high quality of translation. Most likely, users are just used to it due to the large number of tools that Google installs here. Plus, on some smartphones it is installed by default. It’s convenient when you don’t need to download anything.
How to translate in google translate
You can translate text in Google translate in exactly the same way as in any other translator. For this, it is enough:
- Open Google Translate on your smartphone.
- In the top menu, specify from which language to which you will translate the text.
- Write or copy the text to be translated into a special input column.
- Press Enter on the keyboard, after which the translation will be performed automatically.
If you need to copy text in Google Translate, just click on the finished translation, and all text will automatically be added to the clipboard, after which it can be used in any other application.
Google Voice Translator
Many probably did not know, but Google Translate has another cool feature – a voice translator. It is needed so that you can communicate with foreigners without any problems. Just press one button, and the translator will listen to your speech and translate it online into another language.
Moreover, the translator has a function of automatic language recognition. Again, it is convenient when you do not understand what language your interlocutor speaks and can automatically translate his speech without any problems.
To turn on the voice translator , you just need to click on the microphone icon, which is located in the center. If you want to turn on Google translate in talk mode , follow this simple instruction:
- Open Google Translate on your smartphone.
- Next, click on the Conversation icon in the lower left corner.
- Choose the languages you will communicate in.
- Next, press the button with the microphone opposite the desired interlocutor.
If you want to translate speech automatically, just click the microphone icon right in the center of the bottom panel. Smart Google will include the translator automatically.
How to translate text from a photo
In addition to the classic text translation and voice translation, Google Translate has another cool feature that allows you to translate text from a picture or photo. The chip is extremely convenient and I often use it not only for translation, but also for text recognition from a picture in principle.
- Open Google Translate on your smartphone.
- Next, click on the camera icon in the lower right corner.
- Allow access to the Camera if required.
- Then, at the top of the display, select from which language to which you will translate the text.
- Next, click Translate to translate online, or click Import and upload the image you need.
History of Google Translate
The next feature that every Google translator user should know is History and backup . The fact is that Google Translate automatically saves the entire history of your translations from absolutely all devices. It doesn’t matter at all whether you are translating from a desktop version of the browser , from an Android smartphone, or from an iPad in general.
To open the translation history in Google translate , you need to:
- Open Google Translate on your smartphone.
- Then click on your profile icon in the top right corner.
- Sign in to your Google account on all your devices.
- In the menu that opens, click on the History button and view previous translations.
This feature is implemented through cloud storage. Google automatically syncs all data to the cloud and then uploads it to all devices. I often use the feature when I need to view translations from a week ago and even older. It is convenient that the date is indicated in the application. You can clear the history of transfers at any time by clicking on the three dots in the upper corner , then Clear the history of transfers .
Plus, don’t forget about the ability to add individual phrases and texts to Favorites. To do this, just click on the icon with an asterisk during the translation. After that, the phrase will automatically be added to a special section.
