How to Fix Windows 11 Update’s “blue screen of death”

Share

Microsoft recently released a cumulative update to fix a number of issues and bugs in Windows 11, however it itself causes a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on some systems with certain drivers.

We are talking about the Windows 11 update KB5013943. Because of it, the desktop is not responding due to compatibility issues between drivers and the update.

One of the users said that since the update he has a BSOD after 10-15 minutes while playing Hitman 3. The blue screen is displayed literally for a second, so people do not even have time to notice what error it shows.

While Microsoft has not yet acknowledged the bug, Sophos has confirmed that the update can lead to a blue screen of death on computers. To fix the error, experts recommend uninstalling the update by following these steps:

  • Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.
  • Pause updates for 7 days.
  • Open the control panel.
  • Click on Programs and Features.
  • Click on “View installed updates”.
  • Find KB5013943 and remove it.
