One woman said iPhone SOS saved her life after a scary night on the beach, Wavy reports. And inside the article is a small guide on how you can set it up.
Kelly Worst was leaving the beach at 2 am, at which point an unknown man asked her to help find his iPhone.
In the end, it turned out to be a ruse, because soon the man attacked her. Trying to get out, Wurst turned to her iPhone for help.
She activated the SOS function by pressing and holding the side button and the volume button and then swiping her finger across the screen.
After that, the 911 service was able to hear everything that was happening.
Fortunately, the officers quickly arrived at the scene, at which point the man began to run.
The most common way to activate the SOS feature on an iPhone is to press and hold the side button and one of the volume buttons.
After that, you will have the opportunity to swipe your finger on the inscription that appears to make a call.
This feature called “Auto Call” can be configured by going to “Settings”, “Emergency SOS” and turning on “Call on hold”.
You can also call 911 by quickly pressing the side button five times. This will start a countdown and sound an alarm if “Countdown sound” is enabled in the settings.
When the countdown is over, the iPhone will automatically call emergency services. Like auto call, 5 tap call can be enabled by going to Settings and turning on 5 tap call.
