Qualcomm has just introduced the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, an improved version of the 8 Gen 1. Phonearena has already tested the chipset as part of the Asus ROG platform.
It is worth noting that this is not a commercial product, but a device solely for testing and demonstrating its capabilities.
The authors compared the results of the novelty with the results of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is inside the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Below you can see the performance in various benchmarks:
Phonearena’s authors admitted that they were a bit confused at first with the GFXBench Car Chase test, but once they got to the harder Manhattan test, the benefits of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 became more apparent.
This trend has continued in the Geekbench test. In the extreme test 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, the novelty not only won, but also lasted longer before starting to throttling.
It should be understood that in commercial devices, the processor may work differently. Therefore, you should not rely on these tests completely.
