The other day in the test version of Mozilla Firefox, a feature appeared that allows the browser to recognize and copy text from images. There is a similar trick on iOS and Android phones, and now desktop users can also use it.
To translate the text, you need to right-click on the picture and then select “Copy text from image”. The browser will automatically recognize what you have written, display it on the screen and paste it into the clipboard.
For now, the feature is only available to users whose computers are running macOS 10.5 and later. It is reported that it is implemented through the use of VNRecognizeTextRequestRevision2 API – Apple’s proprietary development. In the near future, due to the Windows.Media.Ocr API tool, text recognition will also appear on Windows computers.
