When buying expensive equipment, you understand that you need to handle it carefully, since repairs will cost a pretty penny. However, some gadgets must be used especially carefully, since they cannot be repaired in principle. As is the case with the second generation AirPods Pro headphones.
This conclusion was made by the specialists of the iFixit portal, who filmed a video where they disassemble the gadget. As in the case of the previous generation, opening the headphones and case leads to irreparable damage – it is simply impossible to replace the battery or any other component of the headphones.
This is due to the design features of the AirPods Pro. For example, the insert for attaching a lanyard on the outside of the case is firmly soldered to the Lightning connector, which is located inside. It turns out that the insert acts as an antenna for the U1 chip, which is responsible for the “locator” function. That is, it allows you to remotely find the charging case through the application on the iPhone.
So, use your AirPods Pro 2 carefully. In the event of a breakdown outside the warranty period, it will not be possible to repair them and you will have to buy new headphones.
