Canada bans Huawei and ZTE devices

Share

We’ve seen this somewhere before.

About three years ago, this was done in the USA, and now it’s Canada’s turn. Canadian authorities have officially banned Huawei and ZTE from including their products and services in the country’s telecommunications systems.

The fresh initiative was announced by the Minister for Innovation, Science and Industry of Canada Francois-Philippe Champagne.

According to him, in this way the government of the country ensures the long-term security of its own telecommunications infrastructure.

At the same time, the decision to ban was made after a thorough study by independent security agencies and consultations with the country’s closest allies.

Recall that earlier high-ranking representatives of Huawei shared their thoughts on what steps the corporation needs to take so that it does not cease to exist.

Then it was said that the company should develop in three directions – theoretical breakthroughs, architectural reconstruction and software reconstruction.
