Looking at the prices of new Chinese smartphones, the thought involuntarily appears that it is already cheap. Unfortunately, the same can be said about Xiaomi products. Buyers will definitely not be enthusiastic about the price of the next generation of the brand’s flagships.
Xiaomi has conquered the market as a manufacturer of smartphones with better features than similarly priced or even more expensive competitors. However, it is difficult to expect from a manufacturer that he will forever sell his devices for next to nothing, especially in recent times, during a period of raging inflation around the world. Therefore, the increase in the cost of the upcoming top-end Xiaomi 12T series should not be a surprise, although, on the other hand, the increase compared to the previous generation is too big.
According to preliminary information, Xiaomi 12T will cost in Europe from 600 to 620 euros, and Xiaomi 12T Pro – from 800 to 820 euros. Recall that the Mi 11T starts at 499 euros, and the Mi 11T Pro starts at 649 euros. Both models will be available in three colors: black, silver and blue.
Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro – Specifications
According to unofficial data, the base model will be equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and support for HDR10 + technology. She will receive a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra processor and – depending on the configuration – 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory.
In addition, the smartphone will offer three cameras (108 MP + 8 MP with ultra wide-angle lens + 2 MP for macro), an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers. The whole thing will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging. The device will leave the factories with Android 12 installed with MIUI 13 interface.
In turn, the Xiaomi 12T Pro specification includes a top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 120Hz AMOLED display and a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging. It will be the brand’s first smartphone with a 200-megapixel main camera that will feature optical image stabilization (OIS).
As you can see, the “Pro” model promises to be especially interesting, although only time will tell if buyers will be deterred by high prices. We expect the premiere of both smartphones at the end of the third or the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2022.
