Following Samsung , Motorola introduced its new clamshell smartphone. Unlike the previous generation with a mid-range processor, the RAZR 2022 is based on the top Snapdragon, but the device has not risen in price and has an improved screen folding mechanism.
Folding Moto Razr 2022 – promises kept
It looks like Motorola has decided to take the lead on all fronts. It was the first to launch a smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera , and the RAZR 2022 was the first flexible gadget with a screen refresh rate of 144Hz. The resolution of the 6.7-inch OLED panel is 2400×1080 pixels. In addition, the company abandoned the archaic chin, which the previous model scared off potential buyers. Now inside the device looks completely symmetrical.
The novelty also has an external screen with a diagonal of 2.7 inches with a resolution of 800×573 pixels. The additional panel not only shows the time and notifications. On it you can run navigation, applications, games, in short, use it as a full-fledged display.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor became the heart of the model. The amount of RAM can reach up to 12 GB, and the permanent memory can go up to 512 GB. The memory types in both cases are the fastest – LPPDR5 and UFS 3.1, respectively.
The main camera has a 50 MP sensor and a lens with optical image stabilization (f/1.88). It is complemented by a second 13 MP sensor with an ultra wide-angle lens (f / 2.2) with a viewing angle of 121 degrees. There is also a 32-megapixel front camera, but due to the second display for selfies, you can use the main camera.
The case is equipped with the third generation Star Trail hinge, which provides a smoother closing and opening of the lid, and also minimizes the wrinkle of the flexible screen. The RAZR 2022 can be opened and locked at any angle. The device weighs 200 grams and has a thickness of 7.62 mm when open.
But the battery capacity, as in the previous generation, is not impressive – only a 3500 mAh battery is installed with support for 33-watt charging. The Moto RAZR 2022 is running Android 12, and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers are responsible for the sound in the device.
