Right now, we are witnessing the birth of a new trend in the wireless headphone market. There are more and more models available with solar charging. Recently , the Swedes from Urbanista released such a gadget, and the other day Adidas followed suit, introducing RPT-02 SoL on-ear headphones .
The novelty uses Powerfoyle technology from Exeger. Due to it, the autonomy of the Adidas RPT-02 Sol can reach an impressive figure of 80 hours . The manufacturer does not indicate how much the solar panel directly increases the run time, but this is a great indicator for those who do not like to frequently charge their devices.
The Urbanista in-ears use a similar feature, but the battery life is limited to 32 hours on a single charge.
45 mm drivers with a wide frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz are responsible for the sound quality in the gadget. Connecting to devices provides energy-efficient Bluetooth 5.2, which guarantees a stable signal at a distance of up to 10 meters.
Given that the headphones are designed for people who spend a lot of time outdoors and lead an active lifestyle, the RPT-02 Sol has an IPX4 waterproof rating. The light weight and design with fabric elements should make them comfortable for everyday wear, the previous generation RPT-01 was highly praised in terms of comfort.
The Adidas RPT-02 Sol will go on sale August 23rd for $230.
